Through our project RESPECT, we invite you to participate in our Social media competition, to help us raise awareness on respecting copyright and thus supporting the creators and artists.
Competition begins on the 21st of February so start preparing.
Competition ends on the 2nd of May at 23:59 and the winner will be announced on the 9th of May.
How can you participate?
Create and submit an original video, promoting the use of legal sources online in regards to cultural content such as movies, music, literature, video games etc.
The only rule you will have to follow is to start the video using this simple phrase:
”I choose legal sources because…”
Our video competition will be promoted primarily in all participating countries (Cyprus, Greece, Spain) but also throughout Europe.
Special attention will be given to creative and innovative videos. So, dare to be unique and bold.
Directions: Take a video with your phone in Landscape Mode. If you decide to use music, make sure that you comply with the terms of its license of use. Length of the video should be up to 20 seconds!
It is important to emphasize that your videos can be in any EU language. Subtitles can be used if necessary.
Submit your video over Wetransfer (https://wetransfer.com/) by sending it via our email: respectproject2021@gmail.com
After we receive all of your videos, we will announce the winners and create a compilation of the top three videos, and use them for the promotion of our project RESPECT. Content creators will be cited in this compilation of videos.
Thanks to your contribution this compilation will be used to promote the importance of using legal sources online to access cultural works, thus empowering creators’ and artists’ rights!

The social media competition will be promoted in Greek, Spanish and English language.
What do you win, you ask?
The three winners will receive our praise, visibility and a 300 EUR gift voucher for legal online platforms, online games/software or other legal sources.
Who wins?
At the end of the competition, we will announce three winners who will be selected by an evaluation committee formed by experts on copyright and representatives of the RESPECT project team.
The three winning videos will be used to compile a final video circulated in all our social media accounts and broadcasted on national TV. Furthermore, all three winners will receive a gift voucher for legal online platforms, games/software, or other legal sources of up to 300 euros.

Terms and Conditions of the competition
- The promoter is: Respect Project
Awareness Campaign on the benefits of protecting Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) in Cyprus, Greece and Spain. A project funded by the EUIPO. - The competition is open to residents of the European Union aged 16 to 24. For participants under 18 parental consent is required.
Members of the project or judges of the competition are not allowed to participate. - There is no entry fee and no purchase necessary to enter this competition.
- By entering this competition, an entrant is indicating his/her agreement to be bound by these terms and conditions.
- Only one entry per person will be accepted. Multiple entries from the same person will be disqualified in total.
- Closing date for entry is the 2nd of May 2022, Monday at 23:59. After this date no further entries to the competition will be permitted.
- No responsibility can be accepted for entries not received for whatever reason.
- The rules of the competition and how to enter are as follows:
- You can participate by creating and submitting a video promoting the use of legal sources online when it comes to cultural content such as movies, music, literature, video games etc.
- The only rule you will have to follow is to start the video using this simple phrase:
”I choose legal sources because…” - Languages in which the social media competition will be promoted are of all participating in this project countries, which means Greek, Spanish and/or English.
- Your videos can be in any EU language if subtitles are being used where necessary. The duration of the video will be a maximum of 20 seconds.
- The videos will be sent to the Respect project by Wetransfer (https://wetransfer.com/) via Respect Projects official email address: respectproject2021@gmail.com
- The entrant must be following @Respectproject_es & @Respectproject_gr on Instagram in order to enter and also Respect Project on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/respectproject2021).
- The promoter is not responsible for inaccurate prize details supplied to any entrant by any third party connected with this competition.
- The prize is as follows:
- Three (3) winners and their videos will be used for the compilation (final video)
- The compilated video will and may be broadcasted on the Partners’ countries’ National TV, Pay TV, cinemas, theatres and shared on the social media accounts of the project and of each of the Partners’ of the project.
- Winners will also receive a gift voucher for legal online platforms, online games/software or other legal source of content up to 300 (three hundred) If the committee decides to award a second place prize the original amount will be split, 200 euros for the first place and 100 euros for the second place.
- No cash or other alternatives will be offered. Prizes are not transferable.
- Winners will be chosen by an evaluation committee with experts on copyright and representatives from the project team.
- The winners will be notified by Facebook/Instagram post and private message within 28 (twenty eight) days of the closing date. The winners will only ever be contacted by the Respect Project consortium. The Respect Project will notify the winners when and how the prize can be collected.
- The promoter’s decision in respect of all matters to do with the competition will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.
- The participants agree to the use of his/her name and image in any publicity material, as well as their entry. Any personal data relating to the participants or any other entrants will be used solely in accordance with current EU data protection legislation and will not be disclosed to a third party without the entrant’s prior consent.
- All participants should only participate by sending a video that they have created themselves. This means that they are not allowed to participate by sending a video that they have not created themselves or use content in videos that someone else owns the copyright to, such as music, pictures, graphics, extracts from copyright protected programs or videos created by other users, without the necessary authorisation. Participants in this competition shall have the consent of all participants in their videos to use their video for this competition and that latter will have no claim, such as to copyright or/and personal data. TikTok videos will not be accepted.
- All participants agree to transfer to Respect Project all rights under existing copyright laws, such as the right to make further copies of all or part of the video sent, the right to reuse all or part of the video material in a compilation of other works, the right to make the video available on social media, the right to translate the video.
- The Respect Project shall have the copyright of the compilation video.
- The winner’s name will be available 28 (twenty eight) days after closing date by private messaging the following address: https://www.facebook.com/respectproject2021
- This promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Facebook, Twitter or any other Social Network.
- The promoter reserves the right to cancel or amend the competition and these terms and conditions without notice in the event of a catastrophe, war, civil or military disturbance, pandemic, act of God or any actual or anticipated breach of any applicable law or regulation or any other event outside of the promoter’s control. Any changes to the competition will be notified to entrants as soon as possible by the promoter.
