Cooking for inclusion: how SOULFood brings people together

Social inclusion, women’s empowerment and cultural exchange lie at the heart of SOULFood, the project presented by GEinnova. Its main objective is to foster inclusion and improve access to adult education through open cooking workshops, breaking down cultural differences and language barriers to build a strong and connected community.

On 6 March, GEinnova hosted the presentation of the new online course and its training modules at its offices. The programme focuses on civic and democratic participation, equality, and access to opportunities within society. Education plays a key role in personal empowerment: during the event, a Colombian and a Peruvian woman shared their inspiring experiences, highlighting how education enabled them to overcome social and family barriers and reach positions of leadership and professional success. SOULFood offers a welcoming space for dialogue and exchange, promoting alternative pathways towards independence and achievement.

The first cooking workshop took place on 9 March at the Joaquín Roncal Centre, featuring a Colombian cuisine session led by Ana. Participants prepared sancocho, a traditional dish consisting of a slow-cooked soup with chicken, beef, plantains, potatoes and corn, accompanied by rice, sofrito (lightly sautéed tomatoes and leek), coriander and lime. Participation was at the core of the experience, encouraging collaboration, learning and cultural exchange. Through Ana’s guidance, participants deepened their understanding of Colombian culture, while also learning about her social kindergarten initiative in Zaragoza.

The next cooking sessions will take place on 16 and 23 March at the Joaquín Roncal Centre. New participants are warmly invited to join and discover Venezuelan and Italian culinary traditions. Civic and democratic participation can start with something as simple—and powerful—as learning together.

Mastering Succession: Over 90 Experts and Entrepreneurs Gather for the NextSMEs International Conference

The success of a family business lies not only in its current profitability but in its ability to endure through time. Under this premise, the NextSMEs project recently held its international online conference, an event that successfully brought together more than 90 participants, including family business owners, policy makers, and business management experts from across Europe.

The meeting established itself as a vital forum for addressing one of the greatest challenges facing the business fabric: well-structured succession planning.

Success Stories: Learning from Experience

One of the highlights of the day was the participation of speakers from family businesses that have successfully navigated generational turnover for several decades. These entrepreneurs shared their resilience strategies and the key factors that allowed the transition between generations to become a driver for growth rather than a source of conflict.

Practical Tools for the Future: Training Course and Online Platform

During the conference, the NextSMEs team presented the tools developed to facilitate this succession process:

  • Specialized Training Course: A program specifically designed to equip both successors and founders with the necessary skills to manage change.

  • Online Platform: A live demonstration was conducted of the digital infrastructure where all training materials are now available, allowing companies to access high-quality resources for free and with total flexibility.

A Commitment to the Business Community

The presence of policy makers at the event underscored the importance of creating regulatory and support frameworks that protect family SMEs—the fundamental pillars of the European economy. The conference made it clear that planned succession is not just an internal company matter, but a question of regional economic sustainability.

At Geinnovacion, we continue to support projects that provide real solutions to today’s challenges. The enthusiasm and high participation in this workshop confirm that NextSMEs is an indispensable tool for the future of our companies.

Promoting young talent at the 7th Talent Day at Salesianos Zaragoza

GEINNOVA has once again participated in the Talent and Professional Future Conference organized by the Salesianos Zaragoza school, a well-established event that acts as a bridge between students and the business community. Throughout the morning, the school became a space for connection where students from different stages were able to approach companies and organizations to learn firsthand about training, employment, and entrepreneurship options in a friendly and participatory environment.

Our team was not only present in the stand area, but also participated in the program of talks aimed at students, with several presentations on how to find employment through social media and make the most of their personal digital brand. In this space, we shared practical advice, examples, and best practices for using platforms such as LinkedIn strategically in the search for job and internship opportunities.

In addition, we presented GEINNOVA’s different lines of work, bringing students closer to opportunities related to continuing education, European projects, and the development of key skills for employability in a constantly changing work environment. This participation reinforces GEINNOVA’s commitment to young people and to collaboration between the educational sphere and the world of work, promoting alliances that facilitate the transition from training to employment. Through initiatives such as this Talent Day, we continue to build a network of educational centers, companies, and organizations that are committed to supporting young people in their personal and professional development.

Art that connects cultures: more than 130 young Turkish artists showcase their talent at CaixaForum Zaragoza

CaixaForum Zaragoza was filled with energy, color, and talent in a unique event that brought together young artists from Turkey with the Aragonese community. More than 130 participants traveled to the city after a demanding selection process held in Antalya, where more than 700 students competed for a place in this cultural experience.

These young people are part of the Turkish School Art Competition, an innovative six-month creative marathon in which students develop works in multiple disciplines: painting, sculpture, photography, collage, animation, digital art, augmented reality, and even artificial intelligence. Zaragoza was the setting chosen to show the world the finalists’ talent.

A celebration of art without borders

The opening ceremony featured recognition of Ömer Tartıcı, president of the competition’s organizing committee, and Cristina Navarro Alvira, director of the Aragonese Youth Institute, who highlighted the value of international collaboration and the role of youth in culture.

The event kicked off with an exciting flamenco concert by Nacho Estévez “El Niño” and Alejandro Monserrat, which created a magical atmosphere and established an emotional bridge between Spain and Turkey.

Inside the CaixaForum, attendees enjoyed a diverse and avant-garde exhibition, reflecting a competition that promotes interdisciplinary thinking, unlimited creativity, and the use of technology as an artistic tool accessible to all.

Taking advantage of their visit, the young artists toured some of the city’s most emblematic sites, such as the Aljafería Palace and the Basilica del Pilar, and also learned about the legacy of Francisco de Goya, a universal reference point for Aragonese art.

Cultural exchange and new connections

The atmosphere was marked by curiosity and collaboration. Despite language barriers, Turkish students and Spanish visitors shared ideas, artistic perspectives, and creative dreams. The closing ceremony, attended by Sara Fernández Escuer, Councilor for Culture, Education, and Tourism, reaffirmed Zaragoza’s commitment as a city open to cultural dialogue and young talent.

An event that transcends art

Beyond the exhibition, the real magic of the event was its ability to bring people together, foster mutual understanding, and demonstrate that art remains one of the most powerful tools for overcoming borders.

Zaragoza is already dreaming of future editions that will continue to build bridges between cultures.

We join HER Voice, a European project for democratic inclusion

Participating in HER Voice represents a privileged opportunity for us to continue contributing to social justice and inclusive democracy. This European project reinforces our commitment to women’s rights and empowerment, especially those whose voices continue to go unheard.

HER Voice is much more than a new project for our organization: it is a mission that seeks to strengthen women’s voices and move towards a more just society. Democracy is only complete when all groups participate and are heard, but many vulnerable women remain excluded from decision-making due to economic and cultural barriers. HER Voice was created to bridge that gap.

Coordinated by Stichting Netwerkpro (Netherlands), the project brings together partners such as ASCAE Impresa Sociale (Italy), Gestión Estratégica e Innovación SL (Spain), Caregivers SRL (Romania), and Ecoinclusive Center for Innovation (Cyprus), combining expertise in community and digital empowerment.

Between November 2025 and October 2027, HER Voice will offer interactive workshops, lessons on democratic participation in six languages for community centers, local civic actions, structured dialogues with policy makers, and a study visit to Brussels. The project will conclude with a European online conference to disseminate results and ensure sustainability.

The impact is clear: at least 150 women will strengthen their democratic competence and confidence, and ten community entities will receive tools to continue their support. The participants are agents of change in more inclusive and representative communities.

HER Voice sends a powerful message: democracy is stronger when all voices are heard. The democratic future depends on the diversity and vitality of those who shape it; this project works to ensure that no voice is left out.
