Online training for youth volunteering coordinators on the validation of competences, skills and qualifications

Volunteering is an excellent example of non-formal learning for young people.

The EU Youth Strategy promotes:
– Greater recognition of the value of volunteering activities and the skills it promotes;
– Good working conditions for young volunteers and opportunities to enrich their work;
– Intergenerational solidarity;
– Transnational volunteering.

THE SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES OF THE PROJECT ARE:

-Recognise and support the contribution of volunteers and highlight the potential of youth volunteering.
– Support the continued collection of good practice recognition tools across Europe.
– Standardise the results of recognition tools and other opportunities to gain extra European credits at universities through volunteering.

– Develop, in collaboration with other stakeholders, national standards for measuring personal competences acquired through volunteering.

– Raise awareness of the contribution that employees involved in volunteering can make.
– Ensure that recognition methods continue to reflect the needs of volunteers.
– Develop systems for recognising the knowledge, skills and competencies acquired through volunteering.
– Establish volunteer management systems that also develop and maintain a culture of recognition within the organisation.

The partnership is composed of Spain, Greece, Cyprus, Slovenia, Austria and Turkey.
