GEINNOVA joins D@DEI, a new European project to strengthen Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in SMEs

GEINNOVA joins D@DEI, a new Erasmus+ Cooperation Partnership in the field of Vocational Education and Training, focused on helping SMEs and micro-enterprises integrate Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) into their everyday organisational practices.

The project responds to a common challenge across Europe: although awareness of diversity, equality and non-discrimination is growing, many SMEs still lack the time, specialised staff, practical tools and clear methodologies needed to turn these principles into concrete actions in the workplace.

D@DEI aims to bridge this gap through practical, accessible and adaptable resources specifically designed for smaller organisations.

From principles to practical implementation

Throughout the project, the European partnership will develop:

  • Practical DEI training tailored to SMEs and micro-enterprises;
  • An implementation framework with clear, step-by-step guidance;
  • A maturity assessment tool to identify gaps and priority areas for improvement;
  • A multilingual digital platform with learning resources and practical tools.

By combining training, implementation guidance and digital tools, D@DEI aims to help organisations move beyond awareness and integrate DEI into their everyday workplace practices.

A multidisciplinary European partnership

D@DEI brings together seven organisations from five European countries, contributing different perspectives and areas of expertise:

  • FH Münster University of Applied Sciences – Germany
  • ETE FAROS LTD – Cyprus
  • BOLINA LABS P.C. – Greece
  • GEINNOVA – Spain
  • LT Synergy Ltd – Cyprus
  • Maltese Italian Chamber of Commerce – Malta
  • Innovation Hive – Greece

This international collaboration combines expertise in research, vocational education and training, innovation, technology, business development and SME support, helping ensure that the solutions developed can be adapted and transferred across different sectors and European contexts.

As a project partner, GEINNOVA will contribute its expertise in vocational training, digital learning, innovation and SME support. Our team will actively contribute to the development and cross-sector adaptation of the project tools, supporting their application across different types of organisations and business sectors.

Towards more inclusive workplaces

D@DEI is implemented under the Erasmus+ programme, Cooperation Partnerships in Vocational Education and Training (KA220-VET).

GEINNOVA has successfully completed the delivery of the training course “Local Public Services Management. Governance and Good Government” for the Federación Canaria de Municipios (FECAM), an initiative aimed at strengthening the skills of professionals and municipal representatives in the efficient, transparent and innovative management of public services.

The training took place between 14 May and 8 June 2026, providing participants with practical knowledge and tools to address the current challenges faced by local administrations and promote more effective, accountable and citizen-oriented public management.

Training adapted to the challenges of local administration

Throughout the course, participants explored the key principles of local governance and good government, addressing essential aspects such as transparency, accountability, citizen participation and the creation of public value.

The programme provided an in-depth analysis of different models for managing local public services, including both direct and indirect management approaches, as well as tools to improve service quality through performance indicators, evaluation systems and continuous improvement strategies.

The training also included contents related to transparency and access to public information, institutional ethics, open government, sustainability and the new challenges arising from the digital transformation of public administrations.

Supporting more efficient and citizen-focused administrations

Through a practical and applied methodology, the course encouraged the exchange of knowledge and experiences, providing participants with resources to improve the planning, management and evaluation of municipal services.

The Calatayud region incorporates new digital analysis tools to boost its tourism promotion

Within the framework of the Sustainable Tourism Destination Plan (PSTD) of the Community of Calatayud, GEINNOVA has developed two active listening reports aimed at understanding how the territory is perceived in the digital environment and identifying opportunities to improve its tourism promotion strategy.

This action is part of the maintenance and evolution of an active listening system based on digital data analysis, a tool that enables the collection, processing and interpretation of large volumes of public information from different online channels. Its objective is to identify trends, relevant topics, opinions and conversation patterns related to the Community of Calatayud as a tourist destination.

Monitoring and analysing the digital conversation

Throughout the implementation of the service, GEINNOVA has carried out the technical and functional maintenance of the active listening platform, ensuring the correct collection of information from social networks, news outlets, digital media, blogs, websites and forums.

The work carried out has included the review of monitored sources, the optimisation of searches and filters, the refinement of results and the quality control of the data collected. Thanks to these improvements, the system provides more accurate information about the perception of the destination, its tourism resources, events, heritage, natural areas, gastronomy and experiences linked to the territory.

In addition, the monitoring dashboards have been updated, facilitating the analysis of key indicators such as conversation volume, the evolution of mentions over time, the most active channels, the main topics discussed, associated sentiment and the profiles with the greatest capacity to amplify the destination’s visibility.

Two reports to support tourism strategy

As a result of this work, GEINNOVA has prepared two active listening reports covering the following periods:

  • Active Listening Report 1: from 15 January to 31 March 2026.
  • Active Listening Report 2: from 1 April to 20 June 2026.

These reports provide a comprehensive overview of the digital conversation surrounding the Community of Calatayud, analysing different areas of the destination: the territorial brand itself, its municipalities, historical and cultural resources, natural spaces, events, wine tourism, gastronomy, and health and wellness tourism.

The analysis makes it possible to identify which resources generate the greatest interest, which contents achieve higher visibility, which actors contribute to promoting the territory, and which communication lines can be strengthened in future promotional actions.

Data-driven communication for a stronger tourism strategy

Active listening has become a key tool for understanding the digital image of the destination and supporting data-driven decision-making. The results obtained allow communication strategies to be adapted to the real interests of visitors and online audiences, strengthening the Community of Calatayud’s digital presence and improving its positioning as a tourist destination.

Through this action, GEINNOVA contributes to the digital transformation of the territory by providing innovative solutions that enable a more connected, efficient and destination-oriented tourism promotion strategy.

The project is developed within the framework of the Sustainable Tourism Destination Plan of the Community of Calatayud, funded by the European Union – NextGenerationEU through the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan.

Geinnova develops the new visual identity for the Calatayud region to enhance the destination’s image

GEINNOVA has developed the new visual identity for the Calatayud Region as part of its Destination Tourism Sustainability Plan (PSTD), an initiative aimed at improving communication about the region and establishing a common, modern and recognisable image that will strengthen its positioning as a tourist destination.

The initiative responds to the need to update the existing identity and adapt it to the new challenges of digital communication, ensuring that the region’s image can be applied consistently across different media: websites, social media, promotional materials, institutional documents and tourism promotion campaigns.

The project began with a strategic analysis of the current brand, identifying those elements that should be retained due to their symbolic and regional value, as well as areas for improvement to achieve a more functional identity better suited to current needs. The revamp was conceived as an evolution of the existing image, maintaining the connection with the region’s history and heritage.

A refreshed identity that preserves the essence of the region

One of the main objectives of the project was to create an identity capable of representing the diversity of the Calatayud region: its historical heritage, its towns and villages, its landscapes, its tourist attractions and its people.

To this end, the brand’s visual identity has been updated whilst retaining the Mudejar star as its central element – a symbol closely linked to the region’s cultural identity. This element has been reinterpreted to improve its legibility, versatility and adaptability to today’s various communication formats.

The new design features a clearer and more balanced composition of the logo, reinforcing the concept of ‘COMMUNITY’ as the backbone of the brand and making the phrase ‘de Calatayud’ easier to read. Furthermore, different applications of the identity have been defined for the institutional, tourism and environmental sectors, allowing communication to be adapted to the context.

Development of a comprehensive brand system

Beyond the logo redesign, GEINNOVA has developed a comprehensive visual identity system that sets out the necessary criteria to ensure consistent application of the brand.

The project includes the creation of a brand application kit containing the main guidelines for use, versions of the logo, colour schemes, corporate typefaces, applications on different backgrounds and recommendations to ensure correct reproduction across digital, print and promotional media.

In addition, resources have been developed to facilitate the adoption of the new identity by institutions, partner organisations and local stakeholders, ensuring that the image of the Calatayud Community can be used easily and consistently in future communication initiatives.

A tool to boost the destination’s profile

The new visual identity represents a step forward in consolidating the Calatayud Community as a region with a more professional, cohesive image, ready to tackle the new challenges of tourism promotion and digital communication.

This project helps to strengthen the connection between heritage, the region and its residents, enabling the various stakeholders in the area to present a unified image that conveys the destination’s value and uniqueness.

The initiative forms part of the Calatayud Community’s Destination Tourism Sustainability Plan, funded by the European Union – NextGenerationEU through the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, and is one of a series of measures aimed at driving digital transformation and improving the region’s competitiveness in the tourism sector.

The objective was to support municipal teams in transforming local challenges and priorities into structured projects with the potential to access European funding.

Throughout the course, participants worked on essential elements such as needs analysis, opportunity identification, activity planning, indicator definition and the correct technical and financial management of initiatives.

This capacity-building action contributes to strengthening the role of local authorities as active players in the European funding ecosystem, enabling them to develop innovative solutions with social, economic and territorial impact.

GEINNOVA’s commitment to strengthening public sector capacities

Inspiration, connection, and collaboration at the Besis Forum 2026

On Tuesday, May 26th, we had the pleasure of hosting the BESIS Forum 2026 at Mobility City Zaragoza, a day that exceeded all our expectations. For us, the event was much more than a meeting: it became a space for connection, inspiration, and collaboration among organisations, professionals, and individuals committed to transforming the results of European and international projects into new opportunities for the future.

Throughout the day, we shared key ideas on project sustainability, results capitalisation, international cooperation, and the creation of partnerships with real impact. There was also time to debate, hear different perspectives, build connections, and spark conversations that, we are sure, will continue to grow beyond this day.

We would like to sincerely thank everyone who joined us in person at Mobility City, as well as those who participated online, taking part in this experience from a distance. Thank you for your presence, contributions, energy, and trust.

The network aims to facilitate collaboration, exchange of good practices, and access to funding opportunities, supporting each member in maximising the value of their initiatives and strengthening their long-term sustainability.

We leave inspired and motivated, knowing that this is only the beginning of a journey that will continue to create impact, opportunities, and valuable connections.
