BUSINESS ORIENTED YOUNG WOMEN: HOW TO SUPPORT AND EMPOWER THEIR ENTREPRENEURIAL COMPETENCES

The project EMPOWER is conceived as a tool to promote and reboot young women entrepreneurship against unemployment, entry barriers of the sector through the digital training of people in entrepreneurial skills and exchange of good practices, facilitating the learning of business management contents specifically adapted to the needs of the target group advancing and promoting competitiveness, economic diversification, the sustainable development and job creation. Women are the most affected from the Covid-19 pandemic, that have been hit in several aspects of life, included their participation in the labour market.

The specific objectives of the EMPOWER project are:

-To provide employment guidance systems to young women who want to undertake and lead social enterprises or to take up the entrepreneurship world through the production of high-quality materials and tailor-made training with new methods and more effective and individualized tools to support young women;

-To give young women access to relevant networks through the involvement of stakeholders, organizations active in the field and other policymakers at the most appropriate level. Networks are key factors in business success by providing access to information, advice, finance and business contacts;

-To support the priority of advancing gender equality and women’s empowerment (as a key project strategy) through the creation of a business model based on social enterprise with an active role for young women leaders. Therefore, through the implementation of this project we want to reduce the gender disparity between men and women with access to training in order to improve young women self-esteem and confidence;

-To offer to young women the motivation to start a business (alone or with others) an all-in-one program (online contents and tools, workshops, group activities, multi-mentor support) in enlarging their knowledge of entrepreneurship, sustainable management, improve attitudes and foster skills needed to initiate and manage an enterprise, despite the lack of women role models. Participants would become their own entrepreneurial model;

-To supply participants with examples and advice concerning financial supports/methods they can access to set up a business through the aid of associated partners, stakeholders, other policy makers involved in the implementation of the project.

The objectives of CIRCLE are to support VET providers to deliver high quality online education that underpins a bright and sustainable future for learners and the environment, presenting a range of tailored resources that develop circular knowledge infused with entrepreneurship. INTERREG MED – EU

Enhancing the tourist attractiveness of small and fascinating villages

The INTERREG MED project “SUSTOWNS” – Enhancing SUStainable tourism attraction in small fascinating small TOWNS, has as its main objective to promote the rejuvenation of small fascinating tourist destinations in rural territories and islands, through the exchange of good practices and promoting the development of Sustainable Tourism Action Plans addressed to regional, national and international tourism authorities in the intervention area (MED).

SUSTOWNS focuses on three types of target groups:

1 – Second home owners – These are people with personal or family ties who, usually for work reasons, do not live in the territories concerned and only visit (especially during long holiday periods). 2 – New residents – The objective with this public is to integrate them into the population and to introduce them to all the activities and possibilities offered by the territory in order, on the one hand, to reinforce their links with the population and, on the other hand, to provoke a pull effect.

3 – Pensioners – Attract them and make them residents, as they could find the ideal environment to enjoy a high quality of life.

To achieve this, the project is divided into three phases:

  • Phase 1: Identification of the people who make up each of the target groups and categorisation by interests.
  • Phase 2: Creation of direct communication channels with them.
  • Phase 3: Consolidation of monthly agendas of activities aligned with the identified interests.

Zero Waste Project

Zero Waste

KA220-SCH – Cooperation partnerships in school education

Food waste is not only an ethical and economic problem, it also depletes the environment’s limited natural resources. The best way to prevent food waste is to educate, inspire and encourage the public, and especially the younger generation, to take action.

The main objective of the Zero Waste project is to ensure that school teachers are informed and educated, through useful training material, about the social, environmental and economic consequences of food waste and the best practices to reduce it. Teachers will have the possibility to include the food waste training material in their classroom to raise awareness and pass on the knowledge to their pupils.

The ultimate goal of this project is for both teachers and pupils (and consequently their families) to act as transmitters of a new way of life based on cyclical economy, proper management of daily food consumption and elimination of food waste under the motto “use wisely, reduce, recycle”.

The partnership is composed of Ireland, Portugal, Spain and Romania.
